FA Food Drive for Chaplaincy Centre Food Bank

Hello, UPEIFA Members:

Our 2020 “FA for Food Bank” (FA4FB) food drives for the UPEI Chaplaincy Centre Food Bank were very helpful and greatly appreciated. We are planning a new FA4FB food drive to help the food bank get ready for the summer months: food donations can be dropped off on Monday, June 14th, from Noon – 3PM, at the bus shelter in the Murphy Student Centre parking lot.

If you would like to donate, but are unable to do so at the scheduled time, please contact Simon Lloyd ([email protected]) or
Larry Hale ([email protected]) to make alternate arrangements.

Volunteers will be present to collect your donations, taking into consideration all recommended physical distancing measures.

Dr. Jennifer Taylor, a faculty member in Applied Human Sciences known for her expertise in foods and nutrition, observed the food needs and choices of those using the food bank last year, and kindly shared some recommendations for food donations, which you can see by CLICKING HERE
Please note that Sister Sue at the Chaplaincy Centre has highlighted that donations of egg cartons would also be useful.

And, Sister Sue also reminds us that some “surprise treats” are always welcome. 🙂

If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Simon or Larry.

Thanks to all who have supported this important initiative in the past, and we hope you will be able to do so again!
